Shomeek Mukhopadhyay works in nanomaterials synthesis using non equilibrium atmospheric pressure plasmas and their applications in superconductivity, magnetism and catalysis. He received his PhD at Duke University under Bob Behringer and after postdoctoral positions at Columbia University and University of California, Riverside he joined Yale in 2013 as an Associate Research Scientist. Since 2017 he has co-founded 3 startup companies - Obsidian Advanced Manufacturing, LTP Innovations and Plazmod Technologies. He holds 4 patents on various aspects of Plasma based synthesis
